Parade of 600 Horses Delights Boston Crowd At Charles River Speedway
Ten thousand spectators watched a two-hour parade featuring about six hundred steeds of mixed breeds and carriages along the Charles River Speedway route. Governors and officials reviewed the line at Soldiers Field, with the Dorchester Driving Club leading the first division and multiple clubs from Boston and surrounding towns displaying their teams in a grand city event. The mudgy roads and late postponements affected entries but the procession demonstrated broad support for horsemanship and driving clubs.
