Jacob Larsen an engineer and night foreman for a sewer project east of Greenwich was murdered at 9:23 tonight by three Italians he had encountered earlier in the day. Police were alerted and investigations began into motive and identities of the assailants.
Colonel James Miner once assistant secretary of the Confederate Navy died in poverty in Milford Colorado on May 1 23 aged 8 years. A native of New England and friend of General Samuel Houston he formerly owned Iron Works of Mond Virginia and studied at Edinburgh University. The war ruined him and he spent years building up burying ground visits at the cemetery in the city.
