Man Named Michael H Sullivan Found Wounded After Revolver Report

About 4 30 yesterday afternoon a revolver shot from a vacant Newbury Street lot near Brookline Avenue led bystanders to a man found bleeding from the right ear. The 60 year old Michael H Sullivan of No 2 Leland Place South End was taken to City Hospital after a 38 caliber revolver lay nearby.

Bunker Hill Day Names Staff and Plans Historical Society

At the Bunker Hill day committee meeting Mr. John Hurley announced William H. Oakes as chief of staff. They plan joint exercises with the new Bunker Hill Historical Society to mark graves of soldiers. Captain Luke Smith of Acton was invited. he is the oldest living son of a Revolutionary patriot.

Desperate clash at Fort Branche ends in deaths

In Vincennes Indiana on May 26 a violent confrontation between Lentzs steamboat circus workers and local citizens at Fort Branche left seven dead and about a dozen wounded. Citizens tried to sink the boat but were repulsed by showmen, who fought back.

Boston School Board Moves to Improve Sanitation and Ventilation

Boston officials announce a $75,000 appropriation for public school building improvements to enhance sanitation ventilation and fire safety, with plans to be approved by the school committee. Matricide Trial Opens In New York Case Of Mrs Bliss Poisoning

In New York on May 2 the trial of Mary Alice Almont Livingston Fleming for the alleged poisoning of her mother Evalina M Bliss began. Witnesses described a flat, a drug package, and a powder with doctors and nurses recounting efforts to treat Bliss. Court adjourned to continue tomorrow.

Boy, 12, Accuses School Principal of Assault

Douglas O. Bruce met Somerville police with a swollen face claiming Samuel A. Johnson, Prescott School principal, struck him in class and hallway. Bruce’s father said the principal should not oversee the school. Johnson denied administering any punishment.

Forward Movement of Unitarianism Highlighted at Tremont Temple

The Unitarian ministers and lay leaders gathered for the seventy first anniversary of the American Unitarian Association at Tremont Temple. Speakers urged youth engagement in the movement while discussing Sunday wheel use and church services for wheelmen. Officers elected included John D. Long as president and Horace Wadlin as vice president. Governor Wolcott gave a welcome, invoking Channing Parker and Peabody as inspirational figures.

Guardian launched as Boston police boat on harbor slip

The city of Boston welcomed its new police launch Guardian at Atlantic Works last evening. Blocks removed at 10 37 amid cheers of 200 spectators as Commissioner Curtis christened the craft with champagne. Onboard were Curtis and several officials including W H Pierce, Captain Bragdon, and others. A light luncheon followed at the Protector.

Iniquitous Decision Protest Meeting at Ebenezer Baptist

The Massachusetts Racial Protective Association held a mass meeting at Ebenezer Baptist Church to denounce a Supreme Court ruling upholding Louisiana laws for separate cars by race. Clifford H. Plummer chaired, Rev. Dr. Kirk was permanent chairman, with speakers Rev. W. H. Scott Senator Roe Thomas Riley and W. E. Reed. They denounced the ruling as barbaric and against American principles. Riley urged organization to empower the roughly two to three million Black voters.

Yesterday afternoon thieves robbed Michael Conroy's house at 2235 Cabot Street. They stole a lady's gold watch and chain a diamond ring a set of earrings a breast pin and $76 in cash totaling $159.

Farewell Address at Malden for Revered Fuller

In Malden on May 26 a reception at St Pauls Episcopal Church bid farewell to Rev Samuel R Fuller and his wife after his suspension and deposing over a second marriage while the first wife lived. Edward J Burtt led, Fuller spoke of gratitude, and letters were read from officers and teachers. The meeting adopted Burtt’s sentiments in a rising vote as the crowd expressed sympathy with the popular pastor.

Women Clerks Benefit Association Social Held

America Hall at 724 Washington street hosted the first social of the Women Clerks Bene fit Association. Archibald Hunter Dies in Crescent Beach

Archibald Hunter a Crescent Beach resident died at his Florence Avenue home after two months illness from dropsy. A popular old-time Revere resident, he was active in Knights of Pythias Royal Arcanum and United Order of the Golden Cross. He leaves a widow and five grown children. He was 52. Funeral set for Friday.
