The Excise Board reported no orders were issued to prohibit liquor sales to soldiers. An official heard no penalties or penalties provided and noted the matter across the country remained under review as of May 18.
Italian forces smashed the Austrian line along a ten mile Carso front from Castagnavizza to the Gulf of Trieste. British batteries provided crucial support as heavy guns were moved to the Isonzo front to aid the push toward Trieste, Austria's Adriatic seaport.
