A Meriden couple posing as James Mc Donald and wife checked into Harlem House in New York on a wedding trip. The man vanished after regaining consciousness from an incident with a gas light, leaving the woman unhelpful and silent. The woman carried a return ticket to Meriden, and she was sent back that night.
The Everett town selectmen face a demand from the Democratic town committee and the Young Men's Democratic Club plus 200 petitioners to reconsider appointing E B Wilson as registrar and to reappoint Woodbury A Ham after six years. They accuse Chairman C C Nichols of personal reasons for the rejection, prompting calls to seek state action and a governor appointed special registrar at the next election.
The Woburn High School battalion faces criticism from Second School Regiment officials after field day drills. Citing two daily school sessions compared with one for others, they say drill time suffers and decide to withdraw to devote time to study.
About 4 pm yesterday Michael Trainor 87 attempted to board an outward bound electric car on Washington near Dover street. He was struck by an inward bound East Boston car cutting his face. An officer took him to Station 9 and Dr Finn dressed his wounds before sending him home to 2213 Washington Street.
John Peterson, 33, suffered a crushed left foot at Reading Rubber Works yesterday afternoon. His foot was amputated above the ankle at Massachusetts General Hospital after being brought there last night. Peterson is married and resides in the area.

Butler claims he left presidency about eight months ago.
General Benjamin F. Butler told a Postman examiner he has not been an officer of the Georgia Alabama Investment and Development Company for over a year. He said he owns three or four shares that came with the organization, declined the presidency at first, and later allowed his name to be used. eight months ago he withdrew and no longer has any connection.

Three bodies aged about 50, 35, and 18 were found on the Wellfleet beach at 1 p.m. with a fourth of about 18 found at 5 p.m. They likely were the crew of the schooner L. P. Coroner Birge took charge and placed the men in the tomb at Wellfleet. Reuben Pickel was marked in India ink on one sailor's arm.
