May 22 report states Anna Gould and Prince Helie de Sagan wed in Hoboken on April 10. Friends now believe the marriage occurred before they sailed for Europe, and their acquaintances think the ceremony took place privately earlier in the week.
Prince Helie de Sagan and Mme Gould reportedly wed in Meyer's Hotel Hoboken on April 10 in a quiet civil ceremony kept secret until a religious service could occur. An improvised arrangement reportedly used a Jersey City justice. the $500 fee and subsequent sightings fueled belief the couple acted discreetly to avoid public attention.

N A Sinclair reported Taft and his small party aboard a train in South Carolina after a Panama trip. Taft, accompanied by two white men and a black man, faced a dining car rule requiring black riders to wait until all white passengers were served. The black companion left the car amid Taft’s protests.

Commander Robert E. Peary via telegram to President Roosevelt announced a $10,000 gift from Zenas Crane of Dalton, Massachusetts to the Peary Arctic exploration fund. Roosevelt praised the donation and Peary then visited Dalton, staying overnight with Crane before heading back to New York.
James McCory, 25, of Union Park Street, and a partner looted Charlestown barber shop on 8 Joiner Street. McCory, dressed as a barber after the break in, fell asleep among the gear until Patrolman James Norton arrested him. Officers recovered razors, brushes, clippers, soaps, creams and more, weighing him down with stolen items. The partner escaped with till contents. police have a description and hope to capture him today.
Attorney General Bonaparte announced a suit to dissolve New York New Haven Hartford control of traffic in New England by acquiring electric roads and to bar influence over the Boston Maine railroad. John P. Holland announced he is at work on an airship with a target of 100 miles per hour and a 30 hour transatlantic trip within five years. He has built six airships, three successful, and cites wind resistance as the main past difficulty with a simple new structural principle.
