Herbert Briggs aged 17 shot and killed his friend John T. Qualters 20 while playing burglar at Briggs home. Qualters acted as the burglar and attempted to steal from a mantel when Briggs fired a pistol, accidentally killing him. No arrest made. weapon owned by Briggs' brother.
Two people were seriously injured and eight others lightly hurt when a dynamite bomb exploded a Euclid avenue car at One Hundred Sixth street corner. A second blast damaged a St. Clair street car near Dean street. one wheel blown off but no injuries reported.
Autopsy proves Dr. William H. Marsh died of rabies, not from fear or sedatives. Large quantities of rabies germs found in his brain and spinal cord. no evidence of poisoning or drug effects.
Dr. Ira Von Gieson, a rabies specialist with the health department, punctured a left forearm during an autopsy in the Marsh home Ocean Avenue Brooklyn. The tiny bone splinter inoculated him with rabies. he immediately began Pasteur treatment. Coroner Brewe r and other officials were present. the autopsy was conducted in an upper chamber.

Thomas F. Doherty, member of the Boston Common Council from Ward 2 East Boston and a longtime city politics figure, died suddenly last evening. He had been ill about a week, confined to bed only a few days. The cause was gastritis and edema of the brain.
Thomas I. Doherty, 83, former Boston City Council member known for wit and visibility, died suddenly after attending the Democratic State convention at Faneuil Hall. Born on Endicott Street in the North End, he was educated at St Mary’s Parochial School, Eliot School, and Boston Evening High School, later working as a messenger for B&O and a steamfitter for Walker Pratt Manufacturing.
Partly cloudy conditions expected in Reston and nearby areas Friday and Saturday with light to fresh winds. In Washington on May 21 the forecast calls for fair weather in New England and Eastern New York, followed by Saturday showers and fresh southeast winds.
Mae C Wood after a judge dismissed her absolute divorce suit against United States Senator Thomas C Platt was ordered held on a $5000 bail for perjury and committed to the Tombs prison. The ruling followed a day of expert testimony challenging the authenticity of documents used to prove the marriage claim.
A handwriting expert testified that the body of a letter alleging a marriage relation to the plaintiff was added after Senator Platt signed. Engravers and stationers corroborated that the blank form was used for the al- leged document. Continued on Page 6 Third Column.
