Rescuer Recalls Whitish Bay Dory Rescue at Wood End
May 20 Provincetown report says George Rich's boat sank in a squall off Wood End. Joseph R. Holmes piloted a dory through three tacks to reach Rich, grabbing him before he sank. Rich was exhausted but saved after Holmes hauled him aboard and secured him to the mast.

Duggan Saves Girl From Pond at Blackstone Square Park
Eight year old Eileen Daley fell into the pond at Blackstone Square Park while playing with friends. William Duggan, recent Nova Scotia prize rower, stripped to his clothes and jumped in. He grabbed the girl by her dress and brought her to shore safely.
