Horatio King III former Postmaster General under Buchanan lies seriously ill at his Washington home after a grip attack this winter. Age and extended confinement raise unease among friends as he has remained home for weeks awaiting improvement.
Miss Ethel King aged 19 died today at her parents home in Brooklyn New York. She was the daughter of General and Mrs Horatio C King. General King whose father was Postmaster General Buchanan is seriously ill in Washington D C.

Lynn May 19 Chief Engineer Down of the fire department was seriously injured while trying a pair of new horses. He is badly bruised with a scalp wound and feared internal injuries. Driver Richardson was slightly hurt about the head.
Belmont May 19 The Rev William S Pulsford pastor of the First Unitarian Church of Waltham and Miss Alice Burbank of Waltham were thrown from bicycles during a ride and seriously injured Pulsford rushed to Cambridge Hospital in an unconscious state Miss Burbank suffered minor injuries and was taken home The crash occurred when Burbank s rear wheel broke and Pulsford tried to help her.
The schooner Eliza H Parkhurst arrived at Gloucester from northern Newfoundland with captain Daniel Mc Donald reporting a dire escape from an immense ice pack that trapped the ship from April 19 to May 10. Heavy gales battered the vessel as timbers chafed and rigging slackened under immense strain.
In Newburyport May 19 the Superior Court charged Pierre G Blais of Lawrence with violating the pharmacy law for possessing drugs for sale without being a registered pharmacist or licensed to sell Simon P Harris State Board agent testified The defense claimed Blais was a practicing physician who issued his own prescriptions and sold only to his patients The judge instructed the jury and a guilty verdict was returned
Governor Pingree said that if the Legislature wants to adjourn by the end of May they must pass a law to raise at least 1,000,000 more from corporations. otherwise he will call an extra session.
