In Manchester on Monday the trial of Nathan Brown of Deering for Edmund Wood of Hennekenn’s murder began in the supreme court. Judge L W Clark and W H H Allen presided with a large spectators’ attendance. Venires were issued for the return of 60 jurors.

Riot ringleader George Adams attacked by citizens in Danville
In Danville on May 19 George Adams colored, identified as the riot ringleader from November 3, was found armed. He threatened others and clashed with four citizens in a factory office, was knocked down and badly hurt. The four men posted $25 bond each for court on the 26th.
