WANTS BABIES SIASCONSETT May 18 The wireless station reports the North German Lloyd steamer Grosser Kurfurst sighted the yacht Apache at 10 PM at longitude 70.50 west latitude 39.59 north about 30 miles south of Nantucket Lightship.
Nantucket lightship reports sighting a white ship-rigged vessel likely the Valhalla, one of 11 yachts in the transatlantic race for the Kaliser cup. Fog and 18 to 20 mph NW winds hinder visibility as observers use night glasses to identify contenders as they eastward pass toward daylight.
