Mrs Hale told a Post reporter Dr Hale will sever his pastorate and retire to private life. Parishioners lament his aging but want him to stay involved, passing active duties to a younger assistant. The 77 year old clergyman accepts the need to stop.

Forest ry of America elects grand chief ranger at convention

At the 11th annual convention the balloting for officers began and continued to morning at the American House. D F Fitzgerald of Worcester was elected grand chief ranger. A parade by Knights of Sherwood B Forest C 14 followed from the American House to Mechanics Hall with about 260 knights, six patrolmen, and a sergeant leading Past Commander W W Reid. Doherty's Orchestra supplied music for the 9 pm dance attended by about 209 couples.
