Dorchester Stabbing Fears Murderer At Large
Fred W Welch a 26 year old of 34 Wheatland avenue was stabbed by a tall 6 foot 4 inch Italian man in Dorchester near Wheatland and Whitfield. The assailant fled and police search the district but had not captured him by midnight. Welch said the attacker wore a shabby pedler coat and was unshaven. The incident caused panic as residents deserted streets while officers in plain clothes tried to locate the suspect.

Mr. Smith born in Roxbury in 1888 practiced law there his whole life. Admitted to the bar in 1860 his son has joined the firm. He served fifteen years as Rockland Bank director and was linked to the Boston Lead Manufacturing Co. and a Forest Hills Cemetery trustee. He leaves a widow his son and two daughters aged 20 and 22. Funeral set for Thursday.

Turkish assault on Athens battle described by Chronicle
