Congress Extends Port of New Orleans and California Land Claims

Public law entries extend the port right bank boundaries of New Orleans to match the left bank, and authorize six month claim submissions for named California land claimants. The act confirms title dates and outlines eligibility to present claims before commissioners under existing rules. Approved February 23 and 25, 1854.

Bible in Public Schools Sparks Town Meeting Turmoil
