Allen Hints Back in Maverick Bank Indictment Trial
District Attorney Allen, ill and briefly rested, pressed the demurrer and quash motion in the Maverick Bank case as Judge Nelson ordered continued arguments. Strout defended Colonel French, arguing no proof the false report entries were his or directed by him, while Allen argued the indictments are properly drawn despite defense objections. Court adjourned to May 23 for defendants to reply.
