Portruano Ore May 15 United States cruisers Baltimore and Charleston arrived yesterday drawing thousands to the wharves. Captain Whitehead said the Columbia is the only river in the country navigable for 100 miles from the mouth for vessels of the Baltimore and Charleston's size.

Pedestrians witnessed flames shooting up an electric light pole at Columbus avenue and Ferdinand street about 6 45 last evening. Engine Company 22 on Dartmouth street extinguished the fire. The pole owned by the Boston Electric Company. cause unknown and no damage reported.
William Blair of 24 Fruit Street died at City Hospital yesterday afternoon from injuries sustained in a fall from a horse on Saturday.
Warrnam May 15 The First Baptist Sunday School celebrated thirty five years with a program featuring Miss Stella Rose Grace Newton Lottie Rose W W Upham and Master Norman Crosby. The event closed with an address by Reverend L Rhoades of Somerville.
