Government Released Short Railroad Lines
Washington May 15 The railroad administration challenged the Arkansas and Louisiana Midland Railway Company request for referees to fix compensation. Hearings before the Interstate Commerce Commission raised the issue if short lines were ever under federal control. If upheld, hundreds of short line roads could be affected as an order tying short lines to federal control had been issued earlier for larger lines.
