Democratic Vindication Over Livermore Vote For Park Commissioner

The four Democratic aldermen claim a strategic win as Colonel Thomas L. Livermore is confirmed as park commissioner after a back and forth with Republicans who sought to block him. The vote followed maneuvers over delays and rule suspensions, with the board ultimately approving Livermore 6 to 5 after reconsideration. Additional confirmations included Johnson, Jenks, Laforme, Harrington, Atwood, and others, while the Water Board warns Boston’s water supply risks without timely Basin No. 5 construction and requests funding and land actions already delayed by council inaction.
