Police Massed Crowd Violent Disturbance Leads to Arrests
This morning police faced a crowd of about 1000 in a disturbance. Patrolman Rice was assaulted with a torn uniform and a black eye. Dennis McDonald, 35, of Cambridge Street, and Daniel Mullin, 18, of Winsor Street, were arrested. Horgan, a Linden Street Somerville resident, age unknown, to face drunkenness charges.

Fire at Keeley Institute destroys Centennial building in Lexington
At 9 o clock fire alarm startled Lexington as the Keeley Institute in the Massachusetts State building burned rapidly. Firemen fought the flames with a steam engine aided by Capt. Willard Walcott. by 11 o clock the blaze was out. Loss estimated between six and ten thousand dollars. Cause not known. The building had served as a hotel after the Centennial.
