Lt Richard Hill U S N aged 28 from Fort Dodge Iowa was found dead in a boarding house in Annapolis Maryland with a bullet wound in his heart. A coroner jury and naval inquest ruled death by his own action after a visit to his fiancée Miss Henrietta Erwin daughter of Col James B Erwin. Hill graduated from the Naval Academy in 1907 and was pursuing postgraduate studies at the Naval School of Engineering.

Fire Engulfs North Cambridge Storehouse After Freight Car Blaze

A fire that began in a crockery laden freight car on the Fitchburg division of the Boston and Maine railroad quickly spread to A. H. Hews & Co. pottery works storehouse at Raymond street and Crescent avenue. The building burned out with losses estimated at 40 000 to 50 000 dollars. The main factory buildings were saved only by a 25 foot wooden run way separating them from the storehouse. The blaze was described as spectacular and continued on page 2 6th column.

Officer Peter Thoner of Station 15 was lowered from the pier to pull the boy from the water. Patrolman Bartholomew Connolly lowered his fellow officer and helped drag both to safety.

London May 9 The Duke of Marlborough closed Blenheim Palace to the public after an anonymous letter warned of a suffragette plot to destroy the palace. The National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies plans a national pilgrimage with 17 federations leading to Hyde Park on July 2 and a service at St Paul’s Cathedral on July 3.
