Fate of Roxbury Wife Grunham Linked to Death

Sea tragedy as two East Boston tots found in seaweed on Maverick flats
Two young sisters Mary Francis Fitzgerald 2½ and Sarah Elizabeth Fitzgerald 4½ were found drowned in seaweed on the Maverick flats near Lamson street. Richard F and Annie Fitzgerald of 35 Samson street grieved as neighbors helped search. The missing children were last seen playing near 10 am while the father said they wandered to the flats to dig for clams. A boy Tommie Driscoll 6 said he found Mary’s face among seaweed, James Russell helped uncover the body and carry it to the smokehouse. The bodies were taken to an undertaker in Lynn and burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery Malden.
