Senate Passes Firemen’s Bill To Cut Duty Hours

The Senate approved the Curley bill by 17 to 18 to limit daily fireman shifts in cities over 40 000 to 12 hours. Gallagher Arrested in Fermoyle Murder Case

Cambridge police charged Robert E. Gallagher as one of four men seen on a wagon at the dump where Fermoyle's body was disposed. Gallagher was arrested quietly near Bowdoin Square Theatre and held at Station 8 before transfer to Cambridge. Police seek two more suspects as witnesses describe a "big, stout, red headed fellow" among the group. Gallagher, 5 ft 8 in, 160 pounds, lives at 88 Gore Street East Cambridge.

Fatal Fall From Window Ends Life of Roxbury Woman

Mrs. Elizabeth Gilbert aged 65 living with her son at 25 Chestnut Avenue Roxbury fell 25 feet from a second story window shortly after noon yesterday and died two hours later. She was found in the yard by her grandson on his return from school. The death was attributed to failing sight.

Crossing Tender Killed While Attempting Rescue

Providence report: Terrance McDonald a 55 year old crossing tender at Grove street died after rushing to save a woman who crawled under gates as three trains approached. His skull was fractured and limbs broken. The uninjured woman fled. McDonald, a widower, lived at 2½ McDonough Street with no children.
