Dumba's view on Wilson and US entry to World War I
Dr. Dumba argues President Wilson sought to avert a balance of power shift to the Central Powers, foresee submarine warfare and hunger blockade driving England to its knees, and feared a self-sustaining mid European bloc reaching Asia Minor and Mesopotamia. He says US entry aimed to gain Britain’s support against Japan, justify a large army, and secure a seat at the peace conference.
