Warwick R L May 5 Affection for a pet dog proved greater than life today when Albert Howe a former prominent contractor and builder of Boston was killed by an electric car while rescuing the animal He seized the dog and hurled it from the tracks then perished to save the animal A former Boston builder who contributed to public buildings is cited.
Mr Howe aged 77 was strolling with his pet bulldog when the dog darted into Buttonwoods streetcar tracks. He pushed the animal aside but was struck by an electric car and killed. He leaves a daughter, Mrs Arthur Stevenson, living in Jamaica Plain Boston.
Washington May 5 Signs of the White House wedding to Secretary McAdoo's bride elect Miss Eleanor Randolph Wilson grew today. She used the White House telephone to invite the Vice President Mrs Mars hall and Cabinet members and families to the ceremony set for 6 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Senator Martine of New Jersey made a hurried call to Miss Wilson.
On the steamer Dunstan Roosevlet describes the Brazil trek with AP. He says the expedition was a success and notes 2100 birds mammals and a few reptiles collected by naturalists George K. Chery and Leo C. Miller from previously untraversed regions.
Explorer recounts naming a new river the Davida after mapping an unknown watercourse of about 1000 miles. The upper reaches were hidden from all but local Indians, while the lower stretch remained known only to a few rubber prospectors. The river rises in Matto Grosso near the 18th parallel south, coordinates given, with voyage starting at latitude 12 degrees 1 minute south and longitude 6 degrees 15 minutes west.
