Endanger Many Lives Firebugs Ruin Lodging House

Four fires set by an incendiary last night endangered many lives at 96 Appleton street. Mrs Mary Hogan, nearly six, was rescued after smoke filled the building. two fires spread from basement to second floor. Fire crews, including Ladder 13 and Patrolman Vincent, battled the blaze with kerosene-soaked floors evident. Damage to the two houses is expected to be extensive.
