At South End Park today 3:30 pm Brooklyn under Fid Tilanton faces Osten champions Boston in a three game series followed by plans to travel to Cincinnati St Louis and Louisville. Newcomers Charley Farrell and Jim Casey debut for Brooklyn as pitching and fielding showcase.
Louisville defeats Pittsburg 4 to 3 as Woods holds the hosts to one hit until the seventh inning. Attendance reported at 1800. Final score shows Louisville ahead with late offense securing the win.
