French lodger Telesphore Lamar kills himself in New Orleans

Lamar a 43 year old Frenchman, at 29 Carver street, shot himself twice in the head about 10 last night. He had worked in odd jobs from a shed at 3702 Washington street Forest Hills but business was dull and troubles mounted before his death.

Brothers Drowned in Mystic Lake Tragic Accident

Two brothers Charles E. Kummer Jr and Robert C Kummer of 119 Forest Street were drowned on Lower Mystic Lake during their first canoe trip. Albert Parry reported hearing cries and found an overturned canoe with life cushions bearing Charles E Kummer’s name. The search continued until morning with authorities notified.
