A May 4 storm sinks a three masted schooner off Brigantine Shoals near Atlantic City. Captain Abram at Brigantine Life Saving Station reports two schooners signaling for help, but waves prevent rescue. One vessel goes down six fathoms deep. the other moves on. Crew identity of the sunken ship unknown as storm persists.
Dr. Howard P. Rogers and Miss Persis S. Davis wed at the bride’s uncle's Allston residence. The Rev. A H Quint and Rev. D H Birnie officiated as Elliot Rogers served as best man. Bridesmaids were Marion L. Rogers and Alberta D. Rogers. reception followed.

Judge N. W. Shores of the District Court of southern Berkshire dies at age 63 in Great Barrington from complications of grip. Born in New Marlboro, educated in America New York, studied law under John Browning and Marshall Wilcox, appointed justice in 1883 by Governor Butler. A former Representative and State Senator, he was a prominent Mason.

The Episcopal convention chose Dean Lawrence of the Episcopal Theological School Cambridge as bishop of Massachusetts on the second ballot. He led the clergy 82 to 78 and received unanimous Election by the convention. he is 48, Harvard alum, former rector of Grace Church and dean of the Cambridge school.
Special Officers Abbott Gilmore and Pinkerton of Station 3 captured John Shew 21 after he stole jewelry worth 2000 from Willis B Foster at 6 Hanover street. He confessed and showed a recovered 100 value plus pawn tickets. claims a Royal Navy lieutenant uniform, says theft was a mania. His uncle L H Bonnelli resides at 13 Dalton street.

The relay riders arrive at Goshen at 8 52 p m as Chicago reports a stormy wind battered journey. Rain pours, roads are awful, rail tracks become routes for couriers. Pouch shows wear and straps torn, riders shoulder the burden. If late, they may not reach before three o clock and finish the race.
A 10 000 strong crowd watched the relay begin in Cleveland at 11 08 pm as riders faced moonlight and rough roads. Dover 12 miles away arrived at 12 30 am after 15 hours 6 minutes late. Elyria followed in 1 hour 46 minutes, reaching 12 54 am 14 hours 57 minutes late. Oberlin nine miles later in 42 minutes 15 hours 3 minutes late. Three miles west of Kekton seven miles more in 38 minutes arriving 2 14 am. Collins ten miles more by 2 47 am with rail tracks used due to serviceable roads.
