Shaw Outlaws Captured After Vermont Manhunt

Dunstan Shaw and son Frank, who escaped Woodstock Jail April 23, were cornered in a Middlebury swamp about four miles from town. Frank was shot twice and severely wounded. Dunstan surrendered. Sheriff Tinkham led the capture as doctors treated Frank and prepared to move both to Woodstock and Middlebury jails.

Roxbury Parish Celebrates Third Annual Reunion

The 600 plus attendees of St. Francis de Sales parish in Roxbury gathered at Paul Revere Hall for a concert banquet and dance. Winners in the married and single ladies voting contest received gold watches and prizes including a diamond ring for a top single lady. The grand march was led by Rep. Michael E. Gaddis and Mrs. Gaddis with local officials guiding the procession. a long list of parishioners attended.
