A large Algonquin Club gathering last night honored Hon. A. Shuman, longtime trustee of the Boston City Hospital, with a banquet. The event recognized his 25 years of devoted service and his loyal civic spirit amid speeches by leading city residents.
A large gathering celebrated Mr. Shuman as he marked unprecedented growth and civic service at a formal dinner. Gov Draper and Mayor Fitzgerald attended, with many dignitaries including Lieutenant Governor Frothingham ex-Gov Guild Jr. ex-Gov Bates Harvard President Lowell and railroad presidents among invitees. Speeches highlighted Shuman's generosity, integrity, and humanitarian deeds, with Long presiding and Draper and Fitzgerald delivering remarks.
Attorneys for William Randolph Hearst head of the Hearst Syndicate sue the Boston Post Boston Globe and Boston Herald for 100000 each for alleged libel tied to publication of a mayor speech from the Associated Press New York dispatch.

Passenger service extends to California with four weekly tourist sleeping cars on the Washington Sunset route. Conducted personally, the arrangement lists fare details and car numbers for the new seasonal schedule.
Producers threaten to withhold all output unless rail contractors lift limits and allow direct farm milk shipments at favorable rates.
