German forces, though battered after a bold Monday offensive near Ypres, fail to press forward as gray German dead lie along the Franco British front. Allied lines hold firm and counter attacks have improved positions along the 12 mile salient south and east of Ypres.

Poughkeepsie N Y April 30 Miss Agathe Wilhelmina Richrath instructor of German at Vassar College was taken into custody by federal agents charged with circulating pro German propaganda She justifies sinking of the Lusitania claiming it carried bullets to kill German fathers and also justifies invasion of Belgium She aided by conferring with Dr Joseph Stulz and Heinrich Bokisch both taken into custody a week earlier.

He said this was 437.5 million more than the sixth loan and that field soldiers subscriptions were still outstanding.
