Voters head to polls for today’s election selecting delegates to a constitutional convention. Community leaders urge broad participation as supporters campaign across locales seeking decisive turnout and a clear mandate.

Monsignor Ronan was stricken with uremic poisoning while visiting Miss Annie Dunican at 59 Mt Ida road Dorchester. Dr John Kelley took the priest to the rectory where his condition worsened until he died about 11 45 last night after sinking into unconsciousness in the early evening.
Monsignor Peter Ronan born in Mullingar Ireland in 1844 arrived in Massachusetts at age five. He served 49 years as a priest in Dorchester and the archdiocese, aiding churches schools and convents and earning the title Father Ronan for his charity and leadership.
In the American League Boston defeated Philadelphia 6 to 3 while St. Louis beat Cleveland 4 to 2 and New York edged Washington 4 to 3 in 10 innings. National League results show Philadelphia 3 over Boston 2 with rain affecting several Brooklyn New York Chicago and St. Louis games. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati also listed with rain.

Preference given to those with prior Army Navy or Marine Corps service. Age limit 40. Apply for enlistment and examination at Harvard Ducal School on May 1 from 4 to 9 PM.

Washington awaits full reports on the attack and hopes missing crew may have been rescued by a patrol boat.
