In Concord on March 31 Victoria P Wood lost the bitter school committee race. The victory hinged on the Minute Women influence after mass meetings drew about 1200 supporters. Final tallies show Ellen Emerson 1138, Russell Robb 971, Stedman Buttrick 935, Mrs Wood 843, Edward Caiger 778.

Minority stockholders seek injunction to block B and M sale

Minority shareholders of Boston and Maine plan legal action to stop disposal of Maine Central holdings. The move follows a secret meeting after a public session where 159 601 shares were approved for sale to a holding company for 3 million dollars in cash and 12 202 000 in five year notes. The action could hinder the Justice Department agreement with the New Haven road regarding the holding company stake.

New York March 30 Suit for absolute divorce will be filed tomorrow against Henry Siegel merchant and banker. Wife Marie Vaughn Siegel names two corespondents and another unknown, cites infidelity since Nov 28 1910. They have lived apart four years. Married in New York April 24 1898. She resided in this city until Feb 1911 then Paris. She returned five weeks ago and engaged Rockwood Haldane to represent her.

Henry Siegel Alleged Illicit Relations Suit Details

On information and belief Henry Siegel lived in illicit relations with a Miss Smith described as a trained nurse and with Mrs Eddy of Dorchester Mass and a third woman unknown to plaintiff. The acts allegedly occurred at Driftwood Mamaroneck and in Manhattan including the Hotel Netherlands in this city. The present Mrs Siegel was formerly a reporter on a New York paper.

The rebels claim Villa captured one Velasco defense today and that the Federals now defend a large warehouse fort and a smaller established garrison fort.
