Germany refuses to yield territory for Poland's corridor or relinquish control of a Baltic port as ordered by the Paris peace council. The stance likely delays the peace treaty and could prolong hostilities, with officials warning of potential renewed conflict.
Washington March 28 Passports were granted by the State Department to Frank P. Walsh Edward F Dunne and Michael K Ryan to go to Paris as spokesmen for Ireland at the peace conference following the Philadelphia convention They will present Ireland s claims to the Irish race convention in the talks
Mr Walsh and Mr Ryan representing the committee said the mission aims to obtain a hearing for delegates chosen by the people of Ireland at the peace conference and to present their case to the conference authorities.
Reports to the peace conference say German Austria proposed annexation to Switzerland extending to all of German Austria including Vienna. Switzerland refused, preferring only to annex Liechtenstein. The Council of Four discussed the German frontier as France claimed its 1914 frontier and the Saar Basin.
Col Logan arrives with elements of the 26th Infantry and 101st Engineers, 103d and 104th Regiments totaling 12,434 men. Seaborne units expected May 6 for a parade marking the milestone.
