Lowell March 26 President Thomas F. McMahon of the United Textile Workers of America warned that no settlement will be attempted before June first. He voiced belief the wage fight is just beginning and that workers can endure three months of disruption without severe hardship.
Charles R. Noyes leaves 50000 to a bookkeeper and 29000 to a fund for other help. A new company president began as a boy for Noyes. In Dublin radicals appear free to protest yet hold little real influence, with a favorite office cat receiving care funded separately.
Boston millionaire Charles R. Noyes, longtime figure in the market district, died recently and left bequests to his caretaker and many former employees while also benefiting numerous relatives with substantial sums.
Lawrence faces a fresh wage dispute as about 12 000 cotton and worsted mill workers are expected to strike tomorrow over a 20 percent wage cut. Unlike the 1912 and 1919 stoppages, the action is limited to two smaller mills in the city.
Thomas C. O'Brien told Iston Council Knights of Columbus members that a drug ring leader in greater Boston threatened his life for opposing trafficking. He predicted the suspect would be jailed soon as police and prosecutors reveal the ring spreads deadly drugs to victims, corrupting youth and needing head arrests to end the conspiracy.

Several men were cut by flying glass on Massachusetts avenue near Ellery street Cambridge yesterday afternoon when an automobile forced another auto into an east bound Harvard Dudley trolley car. The demolished vehicle was owned by Western Avenue Motor Co of Cambridge and operated by S J Lee.
Two men were murdered and two others seriously wounded in Cambridge and East Watertown on Sunday amid money disputes and alleged drinking. Antonio De Napoli of 118 Hampshire Street Cambridge died, while George Forogone was killed in East Watertown. Fred Vigna and Joseph Bova were wounded. police guarded bedsides as the investigation continued.
Police captured Joseph Bova off Watson Street Cambridge and charged him with the killing of De Napoli. Arresting officials said the death pistol remained in Bova s hand as he rode away.
Mrs. Mary Bobin of 54 Mt Everett Street Dorchester was struck on Columbia road by a detached automobile tire. She suffered a lacerated scalp and possible skull fracture and was taken to City Hospital by a passing car. Her husband Everett Bobin escaped injury.
Irish Republican Army members in Dublin reaffirm loyalty to the Irish Republic and organize an executive committee of 16 to govern the army while enforcing a Belfast boycott. They hold two long, private sessions at Mansion House with strict entry controls and heavy security outside.
George Collins of 11 Kendall street Roxbury and John W. Scott of 94 Cambria street Roxbury were arrested after a burglary at D M Lodge residence 17 Old England road Chestnut Hill Newton. Police recovered 27 quarts of high grade whiskey with a quart found on Collins and two quarts on Scott.
Charles D. Ilsley of Melrose Highlands, trusted bookkeeper for 38 years, receives a lump sum of 50 000 from the will of the grand old man. The will notes gifts to other employees in the fruit and produce business at 17 North Market Street, founded nearly half a century ago by Mr Noyes and his brother W. W.
Three year old Josephine E Wheeler, daughter of Boston Elevated motorman William D Wheeler, was struck on Main Street Medford while leaving a store with sisters and cousins to buy candy. Despite the air brake, she was pinned beneath a wheel and died shortly after at Medford police station. workers removed the body after jacking up the car.
Berlin March 26 Dr. Karl Mucexs former Boston Symphony conductor has been appointed conductor of the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra. He was interned in 1917 as a dangerous alien and has worked his way back into German musical circles since returning in 1919.
