In New York on March 25 it appears unlikely that James A. Stillman and Anne Urquhart Potter Stillman will obtain a decree. After one or two more appearances before referee Daniel J. Gleason the divorce proceedings may be dropped, with future hearings focusing on the moral and legal status of their son Guy Stillman who has been the central figure in the dispute.

Last Message of Cardinal to Pope Reported in Baltimore

Baltimore, March 25. The Cardinal’s final words blessed his household and he sent a message to the Pope through Monsignor Bonzano. He pledged allegiance to the Pope and said he was glad it is not the Pope who is stepping down, stating the Pope is needed by his church. The note reached the Vatican as reports of the Cardinal’s rapid decline were dispatched.
