Patent Medicine Ad Claims for Dr Pierce’s Favorite Prescription
An 19th century style advertisement extols Dr Pierce's Favorite Prescription as a tonic and nervine for female health issues. It claims suitability for chronic disorders, uterine and bearing down sensations, discharges, and other so called female complaints, framed as a truthful remedy rather than a universal cure all. The piece argues papers mislead about cures and promotes the product as vegetable and safe.
