The Diaz cabinet resigned today except for Finance Minister Limantour. An official note says the move should help restore peace and aid reforms under consideration. Enrique C. Creel presented the resignations for all ministers. General Diaz thanked the outgoing ministers and will decide on acceptance later.
Rachel Deroian, an Armenian laborer, returned home to find his wife Pailes dead with her head nearly severed. A man, identified by a razor in his hand, lay in the bedroom with throat cut. Authorities report a likely double tragedy.
In Watertown Massachusetts a tragedy unfolds with a dead woman and a man killed by his own action. Authorities note letters in the husband Dercian Merakein pocket bearing Arakel Merakein's name from Quimby Street. A blood stained razor and a short magazine rifle lay at the scene. Police suspect the stranger’s presence and hint at a possible Armenia connection between the wife and the killer.
A blaze gutted the storage warehouse of Thomas A. Elston & Co at 870 Dorchester avenue, with flames bursting into the Frank Kenney soap factory. Nine horses were moved to safety as crews battled the two alarm fire. Damage reached about $12,000 to Elston and $2,000 to the soap works.
Reuben B. Trice, a former Fort Ethan Allen private, killed his former sweetheart Esther Wood with jealousy as the motive. He also fatally wounded Mrs. Anna Chandler and injured a housekeeper, who leaped from an upper story window to escape. He then shot himself, dying.
Trice a Richmond, Virginia native and discharged trooper, visited Miss Wood at the Chandler house after revealing threats. He shot Mrs. Chandler in the stomach, killed Miss Wood, and injured Miss Marie Johnson who fled. Trice then killed himself with a final shot to the head. His army record was reported good by fort officials.
Mayor Fitzgerald said he referred the Quincy A. Shaw estate tax matter to the district attorney to determine if the three executors acted within the law in their dealings with the city.
The affair alarmed legal circles as complaints were filed with the Boston Bar Association grievance committee against executors Quincy A. Shaw Robert H. Herrick and Francis C. Welch alleging tax evasion. Mayor Fitzgerald had pressed for Finance Commission scrutiny and the dispute centers on a $7 000 000 inventory for a $23 000 000 estate and a $5 000 000 bond tax assessment.
In the acts of 1902 Chapter 139 Section 5 the law requires every executor or administrator to, within three months of appointment, swear to and return a true inventory of the deceased’s real and personal property in their possession or knowledge to the Probate Court.
Mayor Fitzgerald says the district attorney should decide if executors face perjury charges. Finance Commissioner Sullivan deems explanations for the payment unnecessary. Board of Assessors member Folsom credits Mayor Fitzgerald for the $492 020 42 final payment. Shaw estate executors express silence or indifference.

Abbatomaggio described the Camorra structure and crimes as the court heard him recount thefts with Luigi Arena and the role of Giovanni Rapi. He claimed deep involvement until 1907 and praised penitence as he prepared to expose the Cuoccolo murder next sitting.
Boston Nationals defeated New Aree in a sports brief noting a 11 to 4 result for the Red Sox Regulars against Los A. Additional items mention San Francisco defeating Red Ane Rens 9 to 3 and other scattered notes on schoolboy crews and a Wanderers-Ottawa game.
Four crewmen from the Stonington barge were left at sea after the vessel sank near Cross Rip lightship. The boat drifted to Great Point on Nantucket and four men faced extreme cold with two dead and two gravely ill from exposure, trapped by ice as waves froze their limbs.
Captain Nelson Davis and three others perish in a northwest gale after their small boat is blown 12 miles from Cross Rip lightship to Great Point. Two men die before shore, including Davis' son, while the remaining two are freed from ice and rescued as life savers reach the vessel.

In Louisburg two Newfoundland fishermen Thomas Shea and James Pike gave their lives aiding frightened passengers when the Newfoundland mail steamer Bruce ran aground at Lance Dann Cove Port Nova. They were among about twenty fishermen aboard and died while helping move women and children to safety.
A steamer named the Bruce went ashore before daylight amid a northwest gale. Seas ran high and snow filled the air as the vessel struck rocks. The impact threw about 130 passengers from their berths and many found themselves in two feet of water that rapidly grew deeper.
Police Commissioner O'Meara told the committee on cities that open hearings demoralize the New York department and he opposed the hearing bill. He said defendants prefer private hearings and the public has already had sensational coverage through the press.
The bath trustees broaden the nude bathing ban from the L Street bath house to all floating bath houses and supervised baths. They also awarded a contract for alterations to the L Street bath house to Christopher F. Brown of 12 Charles Street Dorchester who bid on the project.
