Three coats valued at $60 were stolen from B F Hallett’s residence on Hayward Place. Henry and Mary McNancy were arrested, with garments returned to the owner. Fires erupted at W W Mercer’s confectionery on Washington Street causing about $2000 in damage. insurance covered most losses. Minor damage reported at No 2 Change Avenue, and a new two story dwelling on Third Street was destroyed after a collapse injuring Hiram Taylor.
