Carnival of Confetti and Sugar Plums on the Corso

The author describes the Venice style carnival on the Corso with carriages mixing with crowds, sugar plums, flowers, and masks. Women shower sweets from balconies while pater familias endure the spectacle, and a rose domed belle distributes treats to onlookers. Night brings moccoletti lights, a dragoon ride, and a distant race before the carnival ends at dusk.
