The Sunday observance bill aims to close beaches and curb Sunday vaudeville while removing licensing power from Mayors and Selectmen. Bernard Myles a 40 year old stationary engineer murdered a sleeping woman believed to be his wife in their Leverett street room and killed himself after firing four shots into her temple. Police found both dead when they broke in the next morning. Investigation points to drunken remorse as motive and notes prior arrests and probation. The couple had recently resided at 22 Border Street East Boston and disappeared March 9.
A protester in Nancy France dies from a bullet wound fired by the church vicar during an inventory disturbance. The clash occurred at the local church property inventory operation on March 20.
The mayor vows to bill the Elevated railroad company about $4000 for city crews clearing streets such as Washington and Summer when the company failed to remove snow as agreed. He cites delays by General Bancroft in securing teams and says the city took action to straighten the streets. Continued on Page 10, Fifth Column.
President Haserodt criticizes Mr. Brooks' attitude in a Cleveland letter he sent yesterday. The Cleveland School Board chairman says newspaper interviews suggest it is best for the schools to end the jockeying and he will call a board meeting once legally possible if Brooks resigns.
Wreckage from the two masted schooner Lady Antrim lies along Marblehead Neck after a storm. Bodies of two crewmen are found in local undertaking rooms, with three more missing along the beach. The vessel carried a crew of four and departed Provincetown for Boothbay with sand. A glove and a letters marked oar hint at a woman aboard.
