Defence for merger heard in Minnesota case
Arguments in defence of the Northern Securities Company ended in St Louis as the United States Circuit Court for the District of Minnesota prepares to hand the case to four judges. W. Bunn of St Paul opened for the Northern Pacific while ex-Attorney General Griggs spoke for Northern Securities. Special Counsel T D Watson for the government closed and expected to finish by noon tomorrow. Griggs argued the anti trust act targets operators not ownership and that only limits on purchase capacity could violate the law.
