The Congress street Nos. 25 and 27 property, once part of the Exchange Coffee House, was sold by executors Edw. H. Lyman and Archibald M. Howe to R. E. Demmon, president of the Howard National Bank. The historic building, built in 1806 and famed for its marble and Corinthian details, burned in 1818 after a long decline and costly speculation.
