Brockton Jury Hears Case Against Mrs Carson
In Brockton Massachusetts on March 19 the district court heard the charge against Lizzie Carson for attempting to induce two young girls to leave homes and lead lives of shame. Thirteen witnesses testified that Mrs Carson took the girls to several houses of ill repute in Boston. Defense claimed the girls were not virtuous. Mrs Carson was held in $500 bail for appearance tomorrow.
Hogs Die in Hundreds From Suspected Cholera Like Disease
Petersburg dispatch reports hogs dying by hundreds in Surrey Southampton Isle of Wight James City and other counties from a dis ease resembling hog cholera. Dr Potts veterinary surgeon says the illness is an erysipelas like enteritis with rapid deaths.
