Massachusetts Society asks schools to teach kindness to animals

At the March directors meeting of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, President Angell reported clergy from Boston Congregational Baptist Methodist University and Unitarian groups as well as the Massachusetts Horticultural Society and a local farmers meeting passed a resolution urging Legislature to have children in schools taught to protect birds and treat animals kindly under school committees. He said Bishop Paddock and Episcopal clergy lent support and Archbishop Williams offered assistance, with potential petitions from over 30 Massachusetts cities and towns.
