Fire damages cloaks and furs in Washington street blaze
Firefighters stopped a basement fire at 542 Washington street last evening in a store now owned by the R H White Company. Patrolman Paul of Division 4 alerted Engine House 2, and after about thirty minutes the blaze was extinguished. Damages totaled about 3000 to cloaks furs and suits owned by J G Small Co with 500 to the building itself. Much loss came from water and smoke whereas the fire was contained in the basement between the first floor and the ceiling below.

Counterfeiters Arrested in Boston Case Shake Court
Ten alleged passers of counterfeit bills faced arraignment in U S District Court with eight men bound over in four thousand dollars and a woman in two thousand. Worcester Car Plunges Into Blackstone River Trapping Three
A Millbury division rail car jumped the tracks at McGowan's bridge and plunged into the Blackstone river killing three occupants and injuring a fourth. The drowned include motorman Michael Shea 26 and conductor Fred White 26 with Morris Welsh 21 of Millbury as victims.
