President McKinley Arrives in Thomasville for Rest Visit

President McKinley and party reached Thomasville from Washington at 2 30 p m and were greeted by Senator Hanna and local officials. Children from the town presented violets and welcomed the President and Mrs McKinley, who hosted them indoors as demonstrations were avoided for the rest day.

Counterfeit $5 Ring Busted in Boston North End

United States Secret Service and local police captured ten members of a counterfeit ring nine arrested in Boston included two women and a 12 year old girl Angela and Mary Massauchi among those rounded up. The group distributed bogus five dollar bills across New England with origins traced to New York. Desalvo almost escaped on the New York express but was caught with a 10 inch stiletto.
