In Lynn on March 15 Charles Mansfield a 50 year old sign painter died by hanging in an outbuilding at the rear of his home 7 Cross street. He was last seen at 2:30 by his children who were sent inside. Mrs Mansfield found him after 3 pm and police were summoned. Medical examiners reported life extinct. He left a widow and five children. He had recently ceased active work due to illness and was reportedly despondent. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and the Golden Eagles.

Springfield reports Jacob Markie wiecz aged 60 a Polish immigrant was struck by a northbound Connecticut River railroad train near Chicopee while crossing the tracks. He died instantly leaving a widow and four children in Poland whom he supported.
