Boston Lady Playfair Dies in Fruit Store Tragedy
Mrs Louise Russell widow of Samuel H Russell and mother of Hadith Lady Playfair died suddenly in Solari and Porchella fruit store at 11 Charles Street. Doctor called death due to natural causes. She lived at 13 1 2 Beacon Street. Married Edith Russell to Lord Lyon Playfair at Trinity Church in 1878 attended by Governor Rice and Dr Holmes. Lady Playfair was well known in Boston Newport and New York social circles.

Strike riot at City Hospital ends in arrests
Two teamsters Thomas Hayes and Thomas Finnerty fought in front of City Hospital hotel fearing a riot. Patrolman Miller was injured while restraining them as a mob pelted the wagon en route to Dedham street station. Hayes and Finnerty were booked for mutual assault and bonded at £100 each.
