Senator Lodge smashed the filibuster to allow a vote on the Robinson amendment to the four power treaty. The amendment would bar aggressive action from becoming conference grounds and address attacks from outside the four power group.
The House adopted a rules committee report to appoint a three Senator eight Representative panel to hear the petition asking Governor to remove Justice Edward P. Pierce from the Supreme Judicial Court. The move grows from charges by Jordan and Poland about Pierce’s conduct relating to Waban Rose Conservatories and other matters and follows Pierce’s Suffolk county grand jury indictment. An amendment by Representative Lomasney urged waiting for the Suffolk court action before any Legislature moves.
Isaiah Moore 32 alias George S Melrose admits eleven wives and embezzling funds, including 50 dollars from Harriet Evans his last wife. He deserted Evans after marriage then moved on to Minnesota where he was arrested while engaged to another woman. Police say he joined churches in towns he visited.
In Taunton on March 13 Lieutenant Governor Alvan T. Fuller sued for 100000 in a slander action against Joseph E. Warner produced a $400 check payable to Hathaway and Warner as evidence to refute Warner’s testimony that he was not a partner with Harold F. Hathaway.
Two colored holdup men entered Sumner Breed store at 101 Glenwood Street Lynn last night about 9 o clock. They pointed a revolver at Breed and demanded money. after a search, he revealed eight dollars hidden under the counter. They seized the bag and fled down Oakwood Avenue.
In Philadelphia Quarter Sessions a saloon keeper faced liquor without license charges. The jury, after four hours of deliberation, returned an empty half pint bottle and said they could not agree. The judge planned to withhold pay and seek disbarment from future service.
Seven members of the committee on metropolitan affairs dissented from the report as the battle to protect women and children from congested autos at Magazine Beach Cambridge moves to the Senate and House floors.
Patrolman McGreevy detained four youths in Chelsea shortly after 9 pm under Mayor Quigley’s curfew order. John and Francis Sullivan aged 10 and 13 and Francis and Edward Finn aged 13 and 10 were brought to Police Headquarters. Mrs. Sullivan arrived, approved the action, and disciplined her sons before taking them home with their mother’s permission.
Matthew Silva and Thomas Powers were each sentenced to one year in jail after a jury found them guilty of drunkenness. The men had appealed a three month lower court sentence to the State Farm, hoping for a lighter penalty or dismissal. Police say both are frequent offenders with about 100 prior appearances. This marks the first drunk case tried by a Superior Court jury in many years.

A 12 man jury was selected in Norfolk Superior Court Dedham to try Caleb Loring Cunningham a farmer from an old New England family for the murder of John Johnson of West Quincy in January 1921. The case has drawn wide attention for more than a year fueling public debate.
Boston liquor squad raided the Hotel Lenox barber shop where John Goepner and Carl Farrara were arrested for selling whiskey. Gnecco was seized after selling a quart and taking $10. A notebook linked to Charles Ponzi deposits was found. Grace Chapman was charged as an accessory.
In South Boston at 205 Broadway Hugh Barns refused to descend from his smoke filled top floor until he rescued his cat Nancy. Firefighters battled flames in I Pober’s store as smoke crept toward Barns stronghold and he carried Nancy to the sidewalk amid the danger.

President Harding and vacation guests leave Fort Pierce after golf for a Florida East Coast houseboat trip. The party plans to reach Miami tonight, then travel by train to St Augustine, before departing for Washington on Friday.
The home of Howard Gilson at 44 Winthrop Shore Drive Winthrop was broken into and ransacked last night. A neighbor found the front door opened and alerted police who are investigating. Gilson, president of the A. B. C. Elevator Company of Boston, is away in California with his family. the house is unoccupied and losses include at least two valuable coats.
Anthony DAngelo proprietor of a Bowdoin Square restaurant was wounded in the upper right arm and little finger by a man who asked for a match at Maverick and Cottage streets. Five shots were fired, the shooter fled with another man waiting in a car. DAngelo was sent to East Boston Relief Hospital and police expect arrests based on descriptions of two young men.
Today’s forecast shows unsettled conditions with a chance of showers later in the day. Temperatures may rise slightly compared with yesterday.
Thousands of men women and children swarmed outside the new theatre to see visiting movie stars. Extra police were needed to hold crowds in check from ten yesterday morning to midnight and into the early hours.
